A nature reserve places 30 battery-powered cameras in a forest. Each camera takes a photo when something moves, and an image classification model decides whether the photo shows a deer, a fox or nothing. The model is already trained. The only connection from the forest is a slow mobile network.
The reserve is choosing between running the model on a small chip inside each camera (edge computing) and sending every photo to a cloud data centre where the model runs.
Explain two advantages and one disadvantage of running the model on the cameras. [3]
