IB Computer Science (first exams 2027): free revision
The new IB Computer Science course is first examined in May 2027. It has two themes (how computers work, and solving problems with code), two written papers, a pre-released case study inside Paper 1, and a coded project as the internal assessment. Everything below is free to read, and coding questions run your Python in the browser and check it against tests (Java students get the same questions, with worked solutions to compare).

- The 2027 syllabus, explained
Every topic, HL-only parts, and what changed from the old course.
- The 2027 case study guide
Generative AI for image creation, topic by topic, with practice questions.
- Paper 2 practice in Python and Java
What the paper tests and how to practise it with code that runs.
- Past papers: what still works
Which old papers help for 2027, and which parts are out of date.
Learn and practise
The programming course takes you from your first line of code to objects and algorithms, one short lesson at a time. Each lesson has a reading and exercises that are checked as soon as you run them. The questionbank has the same exercises plus trace tables and short-answer questions, sorted by syllabus topic.
What makes this different
- Code that runs. Paper 2 asks everyone, SL included, to program. Reading answers is not the same as writing code, so coding questions here run your Python against tests (Java running is on the way; Java students compare with worked solutions).
- Built for the new course. Machine learning, databases and object-oriented programming are now for everyone. The old options and Paper 3 are gone. Everything here is written for the 2027 course, not adapted from the old one.
- Free to read. Lessons, notes and questions are open without an account.
